Plantation XO 20th Anniversary rum

Plantation XO 20th Anniversary

Multiple | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still Distilled

Plantation XO 20th Anniversary rum is a combination of pot-stilled and column-stilled Barbadian rums that are initially aged in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks for 12-20 years. They are then transported to France for a second 12-18 months aging in small French oak casks.

The first bottle of Plantation XO 20th Anniversary was created for the head of Cognac Ferrand Estate Alexandre Gabriel to honor his 20th year running the company. This special gift has resulted in the bottling we see today.

Received the Plantation 20 XO for Christmas (thanks wife o' mine!). A smooth rum with a nice amount of sweetness. I enjoyed it but not as much as others. I wish RR allowed half bottles as I rated this one a 6.5.

Rhum sympathique, un peu trop sucré mais agréable à boire

A very interesting rum as one finds. Starting with cane juice aged in bourbon casks and finished in cognac barrels. Adding an interesting character vindictive of a good agricole rhum. Low heat with decent finishing notes.

Ein wunderbar weicher und harmonischer Rum aus der Plantation Serie.

+ long time spicy and caramel taste, color, vanilla and "XO" flavor
- maybe more expected for Anniversary Rum, for me unbalance flavor, too much "something"

Despite recommended rum

an easy to drink rum. With no real burn. Best enjoyed on the rocks but equally delicious with a splash of coke and slice of lime.

There is nothing negative that I can say about this rum. The packaging is awesome and flavors inside do not disappoint. I would definitely recommend this one to anyone looking for a great sipping rum under $60!

"Plantation" is quite well known, and so I thought, I might as well try one, too. Unfortunately, it doesn't live up to its fame.

It is excellent in the nose - vanilla and coconut dominating.

Coconut dominates in the palate first, too. But then there comes some burning kind of acid which kills the rest. No aftertaste, either.

So, it's ok for an evening with friends you want to introduce into rum. Or as a "digéstif", as the French call it. But it is no rum you would want to stay a whole evening with.

Mon rhum préféré à ce jour, très doux, goût de vanille assez fort, toutes les personnes à qui je l'ai fait gouté l'ont adoré.

Smooth, sweet, long aftertaste. I had a small sip of this rum and I very liked it. Price is not so pleasant, but I think, it is worth to pay. Definetly getting a bottle soon.

Né à la barbade, finit en Charente. De la douceur, des fruits mûres, banane, vanille et très marqué coco, un pur délice, acheter sans crainte.
