Multiple | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still Distilled
Plantation XO 20th Anniversary rum is a combination of pot-stilled and column-stilled Barbadian rums that are initially aged in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks for 12-20 years. They are then transported to France for a second 12-18 months aging in small French oak casks.
The first bottle of Plantation XO 20th Anniversary was created for the head of Cognac Ferrand Estate Alexandre Gabriel to honor his 20th year running the company. This special gift has resulted in the bottling we see today.

My favorite rum so far. Great taste. Slightly sweet with a nice nuttiness.
I was hesitant to give a 9/10 rating, but since there are only full points here I could not have done otherwise. This rum is truly wonderful. Tastes heavenly, goes down smoothly and the biggest problem is the limited capacity of the bottle.
I have tasted vanilla, cocoa, oak and maybe a hint of coconut. Once the cup is emptied it smells of cloves.
This rum truly is a fantastic choice.

Probably best rum I ever had, with nice bottle and pack.

At first it comes across very sweet and with a strong rum taste. It just lacks the smoothness and complexity to get rated higher. But for a price around 40 Euros there is hardly a better one.

One of my favorites, very sweet and a very distinct flavor of coconut. Simply really smooth and enjoyable straight up.
As far as I can see this is the same as the "Plantation Barbados XO 20th Anniversary" found on this site, so I'm giving the same rating on both.

Conclusion : on aime! 9 à 10...

This rum was everything that I was expecting it to be. Not overly sweet. Goes down with no burn at all. Very smooth. Drank it on the rocks.

Superbe, ni trop sucré ni trop alcoolisé en "bouche".
Bon rapport Qualité/Prix. Très bon sur glace.
It tastes pretty much like a coconut liqueur.
"An overly sweet saccharin note which make the rum taste artificial. ."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I knew if all the people singing its praises. Never really caught on. Finally tried it. Yet another rum I'll put above that horrible Zacapa 23 (new, not original). It was so smooth. I like Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva, and had a shot of it after Plantation 20. Never expected Diplomático to feel boring. I just can't describe it any better than this way. It knocked down a peg one of my favorites and proceed yet again that the new Zacapa is a joke.
