Multiple | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still Distilled
Plantation XO 20th Anniversary rum is a combination of pot-stilled and column-stilled Barbadian rums that are initially aged in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks for 12-20 years. They are then transported to France for a second 12-18 months aging in small French oak casks.
The first bottle of Plantation XO 20th Anniversary was created for the head of Cognac Ferrand Estate Alexandre Gabriel to honor his 20th year running the company. This special gift has resulted in the bottling we see today.

It tasted exactly what i imagined hiw a tropical rum from barbados would taste. Coconuts, banana, smooth rum. After the first sip i could imagine myself on a bounty beach. A must have for in the cabinet. Solid 8. I do miss some afterburn and lasting taste for a 20y old rum. Hence the 8 and not a 9
Havent tried that many roms but this one was very smooth in the flavour when u mixed it with cola.
Best rum i tasted so far and the bottle looks great :D

Dennoch 10 Punkte

The first rum I really appreciated. Not a classic rum raisin kind of rum. Instead the coconut nose and especially flavour here is just amazing. Good bang for the buck for sure!

This is a great choice. Especially for beginners! Sweet and tasty
Very smooth, with flavours of vanilla, coconut and bourbon cask.
Personally i think the coconut is too much in this great rum.
But its very nice !

It tastes pretty much like a coconut liqueur.
"An overly sweet saccharin note which make the rum taste artificial. ."

UPDATE 07-26-21
I have to nudge this down a bottle to an 8. The more rums I drink, the more simplistic and one note this tastes to me. Also, it is still on the sweeter side of my personal preference. Don't get me wrong, it's a good rum, just not as much my preference as other rums, and it is a bit over priced for what it is.
ORIGINAL REVIEW
What is there to say that hasn't already been said? I am not a big fan of sweeter rums but my wife is. Papa's Pilar and Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva being a couple of her favorites. So, picked up a bottle of this to try and all I can say is WOW! This has so much going on in the aroma and flavor palette that it is a party for your tastebuds. There are all kinds of tastes and hints of toasted coconut, toffee, orange, vanilla, warm baking spices, and so much more. The oak is there but very subtle and the finish is long and yet very smooth, not too sweet but definitely not dry either.
This drinks above its price point for sure. Heavily recommended for sipping neat or with a cube of ice or in an Old Fashioned. Way too good to mix.
Go get you some!
