Aroma is nice with wood, raisin and vanilla. Taste is smoothed with some added sugar. After fisrt sweeter seconds you can recognize oaky and a bit dry tones followed by leather and spicy. Could be more complex and aftertaste is short.

This rum has a nice smell of overripe pineapple and raisin. The taste is very soft and not too sweet, so you enjoy even minor flavors. Those wellmarked are chocolate and vanilla. Rum has medium-long oak barrel aftertaste, it is nicely smooth and not overly dry. Very good rum, however it could cost less.

More caramel notes than the princessa, traditional st lucia burn but smoother, nice long lasting caramel finish

After just finishing sample of Princessa I find Royal oak with significant more depth and longer lasting flavor. Blend aged 7-12 years white oak bourbon casks really mellowed this rum out. Quite nice.

Heavy sweet nose with caramel, brown sugar and honey but also floral notes and a bit smokey. In the mouth the rum spreads it's sweetness in every corner. Nice long finish.

Comes in cute bottle. Really beautiful smell that seemed full of fruity flavor but way worse taste. For the actual price range the taste is really average. I only like to sip it with something sweet. All I can taste is wood and ethanol. The finish is very smokey which is not a positive in my opinion. (Make no mistake, it is still drinkable rum and I can understand someone likes it or even loves it as there is a lot of flavor but not really my cup of tea.) ___ EDIT: feels slightly sweeter another time, feels like getting better down and down the bottle which is generally a good information. I can now clearly feel the cognac presence as well. (5.5/10)

I love the square bottle and the dark amber colour. As you pull the stopper out you will smell the oak. This rum doesn't have the same fire as Jamaican but it has lasting flavour in the mouth. A good rum to start the evening.

Copper colored amber in the glass.
Mild and balanced on the nose. The wood is very dominant, each fragrance is packed in a separate wooden container. Candy sugar, prunes, tea and tobacco all nicely boxed.
Soft and delicate on the palate. Caramel, toffee, black cherries and other dark fruits. Tannins and resins somehow enhance the whole.
A bit of a bustle on the finish, leaving behind slightly bitter caramel.
A harmoniously soft rum that invites you to do nothing. For sailors and landlubbers. 7+
