Really liked this one!
On the nose there is candied banana, orgeat, pears and English Breakfast tea. Black pepper, anise, raisins and caramel.

On the palate there is ripe banana, mint, English Breakfast tea, cocoa nibs and nail polish. Oak spices, passion fruit and sultanas. Finish is long with tropical fruits and spice.

Hodně voňavá záležitost a úvod do Jamajských rumů. Chuť banánů výrazně dominuje a výrazný závěr, kdy na jazyku zůstávají ovocné a karamelové tóny, to si prostě vychutnáte. Nejspíš se ještě někdy potkáme...

I happened upon this hard to find rum at a local gourmet grocery store. I had not read any reviews at the time, but I have heard good things about Worthy Park over these past few years. With a $70 US price tag, I thought WTF and bought it.

As soon as the bottle opens up, the aroma of glue and nail polish remover warns impatient ones to stay the hell away. Just pour some into a snifter and let the damn thing breathe for at least 10 minutes while swirling it around every now and then. Once it settles down, the faint aroma of tropical fruits is the new replacement for the undesirable ones. On the tongue, it is very smooth with no burn at 45% ABV. Sliding down the pipe is where the flavors finally come out, but not too complex at all while being somewhat unappealing to me. Adding an ice cube really makes the flavors jump out, but nothing for me to want to rave about. It's main calling card is no additives.

And if you drink too much of this rum, you should have no ill after effects the next day. Then again, if that is all that you want to accomplish, save lots of money and stick with Don Q Cristal that has no taste at all and only less than this one.

I could only garner a low 7 for my rating, but it is light years better than Hampden Estate 8 Year. As for hogo funk, I have had much more of this from much cheaper Jamaican rums such as Smith & Cross, Navy Bay, or Proof & Wood The Funk. Funk lovers should go with those better and cheaper versions first.

Update one month later: A half bottle still remains, which means that I really don't like it. Since then, I have gotten a bottle of Rum Fire Overproof at one third the price. Just add one or two ice cubes to this white rum and let them melt. Then do a taste test against this highly over rated rum. The cheaper one will win easily with hogo funk flavors. This left me no choice except to lower my rating from my lowest 7 rating to my highest 6 rating. And when all is said and done, this rum is nothing more than a very expensive mixer, and a pretty bad one at that!. You have been warned!

Really lovely Rum, need some time in the glass to open up.

This really is an amazing rum for the value, bit of a whiskey drinkers rum perhaps as it's not too sweet. Very complex but nicely balanced, I keep going back to it as I discover new flavours with each glass.

Great dram.

Review after tasting one time will update!

Lovely nice dark rich brown sugar notes. With a almost raisin like taste, A rum to enjoy very slowly and in good company

Ve vůni zejména banán a kokos a “jamaika”. V chuti trocha trochu banánu, jamajske lékárny a sladší a dlouhý závěr. Barva světlejší

I'm still learning to appreciate the funk that comes with Jamaican rum and Worthy Park is a great one that doesn't overpower you and let's you get your "training wheels" on before moving on to more funky offerings.

On the nose you get chocolate and cinnamon for sweetness but also hints of tea which is quite nice. The first taste you definitely feel the heat with ginger but it eases into something sweeter with more cinnamon and coconut. You also gets a very "woody" aftertaste but I mean that in the best possible way.

This has really worked its way into my regular rotation for nightly drams and am looking forward to trying more of Worthy Park's offerings.

This rum is pretty straight forward, but it’s delicious. Oily legs, the oiliest I’ve seen so far. Initial nose is Jamaican sugar cane and molasses, and funk. A grassiness, if you will. The first sip confirms all of these but adds some spice and a hint of sweetness. The finish is long honey and pepper with a medium long burn.

No additives, sugars or other junk in this rum.

A very drinkable rum.

Stark doft, intressant smak. Lite för sportig och rivig för mig men spännande.
