A rum from Venezuela which doesn't have much information available. Molasses based, column still distilled and aged in ex-Bourbon casks from at least 2 years. Bottled at 40%. One of the better Venezuelan rums, still a dash too sweet for me, but it has plenty of complexity and it's pretty tasty.

Dark color. I find it too harsh. Not my favourite although certainly better than the average. I like to mix it with amaretto or similar, to add sweetness.

Not in my top five. Good rum but not great. Above average at everything but not great at anything.

Lovely packaging, leather pouch and all. Overall an enjoyable sipper, found it had a strong start and ending, the flavors came out more in the after taste.

I love the bottle, and despite the young age (i think a blend of 6-7year old rums) its a perfect daily sipper. A little afterburn tho,not too sweet,a real venezuelan. After 2 bottles devoured, more will follow

Found the bottle on a friends bar. It stood out in a short-fat way, red seal on top. I liked it. The color is a deep dark honey but the aroma hints of wood, brown sugar and raisin. Once past the nose it is not as sweet as the aroma would suggest. It has a slight burn, better to let it sit or over ice.

i am torn on this rum, the first thing I always do is smell the bottle right after popping the cork, for me this rum smelled astringent and tannic. In tasting the rum I find it sweet but kind of woody. I am trying to decide if I love it or hate it.

Strong beginning and a strong finish! Definitely a alcohol after taste.

Nose: Not much.
Feel: A bit rough. I actually prefer this one on ice which is rare for me. It seemed to smooth it out more.
Taste: Black Pepper-y and raisins. A little bit of wood. Quite nice.
Presentation: Nice colour, nice bottle. It came with a leather covering too which looks nice.
Price: 40USD duty free for 1L.

This is a good rum, it has a strong alcohol impact in the nose but when you taste it is another thing, nice balance not to sweet or dry, a really good Venezuelan Rum
