This rum has some amazing components so it's amazing that it's so boring. Its like Jamaica-lite....but too lite. It could've and should've been so much more. Quite saddening.

If I want to ween people onto jamaican rums without having them run away in fright, I'd give them this first. It's a very smooth jamaican style.
After they've grown accustomed to this, they can move on to actual jamaican rums.

Loved this rum. It is relatively inexpensive if you can get a hold of it. But super enjoyable and can drink it on the rocks.

Itโ€™s pretty good. There is some funkiness on the nose, none detected on the palate. On the nose I get some rather odd notes to begin - both green onion and soy sauce share the stage with cinnamon, pastry and something like a menthol note. Strange as this may sound, it reminds me of the smell of the waiting area at the dentist! The palate is lovely, dry, with nevertheless a round mouthfeel including brown sugar, cinnamon drops and some heat on the sides of the tongue for a finish. Itโ€™s interesting!

Not the best plantation, but not the worst either. A good middle class rum.

This is a very sippable rum. The oak is prominent, with some spice. I could see this being good as a mixer also.

Grassy, a bit of smoke, raised from 5 to 7 as I came to like the Jamaica styles.

I didn't know rum could be dry, but this one is. Tough to sip and mix...but someone out there will love it.

Itโ€™s a blend of five rums (1-17 years old) Iโ€™ve tasted each one of them and I have to admit that 17yo jamaican rum is divine(probably the best rum Iโ€™ve ever had!!!
Xaymaca is a cheap rum but it has a great taste, very fruity, you can sip it or mix it in a mai tai

I really enjoyed this one. As the name says itโ€™s very dry but in GOOD way. I donโ€™t do tastings note in my reviews. But its not thick sticky sweet. The price is VERY responsible for what you get. Good enough to sip cheap enough to mix. A whiskey scotch drinker would enjoy it. I will definitely buy it again.
