Au nez, dominante d'écorce d'orange et de noisette.
En bouche, touche boisée et vanillée.
Bonne persistance en bouche.

Compared to the 12 year, this one falls a bit short, lacking the fruity notes and turning dry woody very soon with no real interesting flavour journey

A great balance of traditional molasses rum flavors with some soft funky notes. Warm, oaky, fruity with a long finish. A good gateway rum for those looking to dabble in higher ester rums who don't want a Jamaican ester bomb

Definitely Appleton flavor. Enjoyed the rum flavor, a little bit of a bite. Not as smooth as I normally like.

$58 CAD Smells pleasant. Taste is smooth, especially compared to the AE signature blend. Damn near no burn. It’s growing on me with every tasting. A bit of a bite at first, then some grass and wood with the sweetness, ever present.
Too bad it’s a limited edition, I guess I’ll have to try some of their other releases. Anyways, it’s damn good and hard to describe. I’m used to the sweeter rums so it’s a great comparison of something different. Quite nice.

The nose has discernible funk but for me, it’s not overripe fruit but a kind of mushroomy smell that is initially most prominent. With some time, ginger and banana do come up and become central. There is also a good kick of nose-clearing, wasabi-style alcohol. That alcohol kick carries over onto the palate. There is a general woodiness some banana and honey on the palate and finish. With time a nice banana bread taste emerges on the finish. Interesting to try, it’s good!

This one fell a little short for me. It's missing alot of the wood and molasses that make the 12 year a favorite.

Pour un rhum de 15 ans, il est un peu décevant, j'ai déjà goûté de rhum plus jeune et meilleur à mon goût.

Far below the 12 year in flavor and color...it almost seems like it was aged in twice used barrels.
