Dry with a bite. Good mixer. A little bitter for my taste though.

Rhum intéressant à essayer en dégustation mais c'est plus un rhum à boire en ti-punch ou en cocktail.

This is a great blend. Made of Caribbean and Indian rum. It's not sweet at all, more on the english style rum side.

Tasted at Laka Lono 6/12/22
From the notes: This rum made my jaw tingle (doodle of a heart appears here so this must be a good thing?)
This rum is sweet and delicious. I would mix this with a coca cola or pineapple juice, on ice.

This is blend of Caribbean (Jamaica, Barbados, Guyana) and Indian sorts. 42.8° feels exactly 43°. I didn't not detect Barbados in there, but notes of Guyana and Jamaica. Its medium body, well balanced between dry and sweet. Easy on nose and palate. Sort of unique, exotic taste: dried raisins, fruits, a bit flowery. Aftertaste is the same as on palate - short, but fine.

Well done Amrut!

Tasted at Laka Lono on 9/11/18. Once again, I'm a fan of Indian rums it seems. This is delicious. Caramel aroma in nice. Maple sweetness with some bourbon notes. A slight anise finish. I'll be devastated if these rums are grain alcohol with artificial flavors.

Seeing I've been lately doing rum from asia/south seas on my worldwide rum voyage, I picked this up for a decent price. My 1st sip was like "Hey, this got that Pusser's blue label taste". Half true seeing this is 1/2 India & 1/2 Carribean. My 2nd sip lacked everything? It's on the dry side so I don't think there's much added sugar or anything else seeing how bland this is. Got a decent buzz after 4.5oz's. We'll see if there's any hang involved. Buy again? No, but nice port of call! Lol. ☠

Gentle fruits and spices paired with kind sweetness and warm short aftertaste

Doesn't pretend to be the best rum, it equals the design of the bottle. Hard, narrow, just the taste is quite interesting.

What little flavor there is, is kind of candy-ish, maybe orange candy, kind of artificial. It doesn't even have much alcohol burn. I might have liked this more if it were bottled at a higher proof, perhaps a naval strength offering, embracing the English style this is close to (but not quite as molasses thick).

I've tried two of Amrut's offerings: this, and the "Old Port". They aren't that different, and I'm surprised they have multiple expressions. Both are pretty sweet, but not too complex. Frankly I'd go with the "Old Port" first, which I liked slightly better, and is priced even more competitively.
