Foursquare 2008 Principia Velier 9-Year

Sherryfatet ger den en trevlig smak och adderar en ny dimension till den karakteristiska foursquare-smaken (karamell havssalt). Blir mer bärig både i mun och eftersmak.

Beautiful mahogany color, the first nose is on solvents then we arrive on more greedy notes, with vanilla, candied fruit. Plums, prunes, anise, licorice. The sherry finish is very present. On the palate, it is always very pastry with the sherry finish that takes up too much space in this rum. We stay on a beautiful Foursquare but we must stop these finishes that distorts the rum. Real rate = 7,5

This is one of the best rum I have a taste. In one word, Sublime! Great Choice! Excelent job Richard Seale!

Full body, very fruity balanced rum
Quite high in alcohol, so not for the novice rhum drinker

The blend of flavors is there. Stone fruit, tobacco, chocolate, a wee bit of citrus. A fair amount of oak. Good not great, but Foursquare standards are higher than the rest. solid 8.5

Had this in Barbados and it was lovely as all Foursquare rums are.

A Velier and Richard Seale collaboration that is very special. A single blended rum distilled in 2008 then a double maturation of 3 years in ex bourbon casks plus a further 6 years in ex sherry casks..
Bottled at 62% , it should raise a few pulses !
A chewy full bodied rum with tons of stone fruit sherry taste notes. Really fills the whole mouth with a long , long finish. Wonderful aftertaste..
If there was a slight criticism , maybe a year or two more in the bourbon and less in the sherry ? But an amazing rum overall.

Då har även min butelj kommit! Bort med folien fort fort, förväntningarna är återigen skyhöga av alla tidigare lovord och hyllningar.
Färgen och doften i glaset wow!😳 Lite vanilj, torkade frukter som plommon och russin, ekfat. Den höga procenten gör sig inte till känna, ljuvligt helt enkelt. Till och med min ej romdrickande fru tycker att det doftar blommor. 😁 Tar den första slurken och känner direkt en viss sötma som jag inte hade väntat mig. Bourbonfaten och sherryn tar för sig, mer torkad frukt. Den påminner mig mycket om Ron Esclavo Xo cask med en nertonad sötma och torrare avslut, vilken rom, fantastisk! Jaha vafan nu då?! Nu vill hon smaka också.😳😆
Måste tillägga att längden var fenomenal.
Principian landar alla gånger på pallplats.
