Newfoundland Screech

Not one that I drink all the time but it is nice for a change now and then.

Bought this out of curiosity as one of the local tiki bars use it in a few of their cocktails. Not amazing to drink straight, but could be good as a mixer.

Tried Screech in Newfoundland while being “Screeched In”. Not my favourite rum but I’ve had worse. Would try again without kissing the cod.

The Screech is labeled as New Taste. I'm not sure what was old taste, but this one should be classified as dark, not gold. At first touch I had an impression it is Guyana's core based - has no Jamaican funk, the references to Demerara sugar instead.
Surprisedly smooth and tasty. Will work in Dark'n'Stormy and other cocktails
