Summum Reserva Especial 12

Flavors are ok. Raisins, sultana, citrus and whisky notes make for an interesting combination. Not much balance. It does linger on the tongue and coats the pallet. Decent bite. The finish is very long but a little harsh. I give it a 6 for uniqueness and a thick lasting presence.

Ron Summum have done a lot of editions with "cask finish". This, however, is their "normal" reserva especial. Sadly, there is nothing special about it.

Nose: Vanilla, prunes and a slight hint of oak
Taste: Vanilla, caramel, prunes and once again a slight hint of oak
Overall: A very one-dimensional rum with not much to offer. It is very thin and borders on being, simply put, boring.
