Aroma is strong - wood, fruit and a bit acrid. Taste is explosion in mouth - typical jamaican taste (grass, esters, flowers) combined with fruity and wooden tones. Everything very well ballanced and complex. Aftertaste is long and peasant. Very good rum for experienced people. 9,5

This is a WPM - Worthy Park Medium and is recorded at 209.3 g/HLPA while the 2005 was WP (light). Because of some other reviews, this is not really a high ester rum it's rather strong and dry.

A very nice quite intensive and heavy nose is greeting me. You wanna stick your nose immediately deeper and deeper in the glas. I get oranges, leather, bananas, some sweetness of caramel, grains (barley) and wood. To make the whole aromas stick together there is also some glue, a medical note and some floral notes. This is like a more saturated version of WPL.
Lovely and good nose.

The taste starts with salty oranges and some citrus. I try to hold it longer in my mouth to enjoy the complexity and it's no problem. It's spicy and very intensive, I hold it for around two minutes on my palet. The flavors are changing all the time, I have at least two or three rums here, not just one.
After the citrus with oranges the fruits are rising on you palet, orange, green banana (not the ripe one).
Then anise seeds are suddenly there (the clarendon/monymusk distillery is comming out of nowhere). In the middle you get some sweeter notes like caramel and also some grains (have someone said Reunion?) with orange peels. The finish starts spicy with all the aromas we already had bevor and suddenly the christmas time is here with cinnamon stars (what a lovely surprise). And this explosion of aromas is not finished. The aftertaste, peppermint, oranges, leather, anise are reamaining on your palet.
What a complex and great rum. If it were a blind tasting I would gues it's a Clarendon.
Would rate it with 92 points.

Nose: bananas, oranges, anise, grains (barley), leather and wood, some glue, orange peels, some caramel, dry fruits and a medical note
Taste: citrus, salt, orange, green banana, plants, anise seeds
Middle: caramel, grains, wood, earth, spice with citrus again, orange peels
Finish: spice, dry mouthfeel, citrus, green banana, caramel, grains, orange, mhhhh -> cinnamon, cinnamon stars (German christmas cookies), orange peels
Aftertaste: peppermint, anise (like clarendon/monymusk), orange

This is NOT an agricole as has been suggested but a Jamaican single pot still rum, pretty high in esters. While this is a great rum, I was unimpressed when compared to i.e. Velier’s Hampden expressions since the price is nearly double that.

Nose of unmistakable Jamaican funk with oak, leather, banana and pineapple.

On the palate it reveals having been through a good aging process, with subtle spice and balanced oak before the funky baseline kicks in with toast, citrus, banana and pineapple. It is a bit subdued though, and slightly disappointing, since little more than discretion seems to come out of the long ageing. An interesting briny, spicy character fails in really coming through.

Aftertaste with leather, fruit and tobacco.

Pleasant and top quality, but there are more bang for the buck elsewhere. It should therefore be noted that price is an important factor in my rating. Obviously this is a way better product than certain rums I have granted 7 or even 8 but factoring the cost it does not deserve top ratings.

Strong and boozy as it should, with depth and complexity. Some vanilla and maybe almonds.... A huge rum!

Nose: Almost a floral Jamaican, apricots, vineyard peach, bright flowers and light honey, vanilla and lots of freshly pureed almonds, orgeat, orange blossom water, salted caramel, high ester hints but not too crazy, clearly tied into the sweetness
Taste: Rose water, almond puree, nice salty notes, honey, apricots, light woods, Jamaica funk rather quietly integrated, pineapple, papaya, petrol.
Finish: Ginger, sugar cane juice, camphor, oak, dried pineapple, medium length, dry
Comment: Not all too complex, a bit on the dry side, but some interesting floral and elegant notes for the % and Jamaica.

This Forsyths 2006 absolutely fits for purpose from my point of view, The color of rum is dark amber. Complex aroma inside, with notes of dried fruit and caramel, feeling of Wood of course. Taste strong, elegant, of great depth.. Rum contains 57,5% of alcohol 😎
