Aroma is warm with some slight spiced tones.
Taste is first few seconds smooth and sweet, but somehow weak - almost like diluted with water. After will appear on palate some wood, herbs and other bit bitter tones. Aftertaste is again bitter and only average long. Maybe higher level of ABV could help, but this time only 7.5 points
Schönes Ding. Mit 43,2% sehr stimmig und nicht zu schwach. Nicht übermäßig süß, so mag ich es! Man hat Rum Charakter, Fasseinfluss und ein schönes (nicht erschlagendes) Rotwein Finish. Sehr empfehlenswert. "Gefährlich süffig"
43.2% ABV. Distilled in 2002. Aged for 10 (tropical) years in an ex-bourbon cask, 4 (continental) in an ex-cognac cask, and finished in an ex-red pineau cask. Column-still.
Light, dry-ish, with characteristic Plantation sweetness. Some earth and tobacco. Slightly bitter finish.
An interesting rum. Well made, but a tad too sweet for me, and really not my style.

Cask 1, Bottle 091 8 out of 10
Nice across the nose, light spice & alcohol notes; very smooth across the tongue, slight fruit, vanilla notes; more vanilla across the palate with hints of caramel; finishes smooth on the backend; fantastic bottle, wish I remembered how much it cost me!
