My experience with small local distilleries is not good. The rum is generally raw with a harsh taste. This one was surprisingly drinkable on the rocks. A friend bought a bottle, probably just for me. At this price there are literally dozens of better rums, but as a local effort, distilled only 15 miles from home, it's a pleasant surprise.

The smoothest silver rum tasted so far.
Nose: pleasant, fruity.
Palate: Very smooth and well balanced, no burn, no sharpness.

In my experience, early batches from a young distillery can be a bit rough, but this is very smooth. Dangerously drinkable. There aren't many silver rums that you can enjoy neat, but we didn't need any soda or mixers. We tried it side by side with some of our favorites and kept going back for more. It has a light crispness with citrus notes that would be perfect in a classic daiquiri or a mojito. It's a local craft distillery in Holly Hill (Daytona Beach area) of Florida, but if you can get your hands on a bottle, I highly recommend it.
