This rum is commendable for a lot of reasons. First and foremost: it's a spiced rum made by literally spicing a rum. No molasses, caramel, color, artificial flavor or any of that junk'um. Some clove, black tea, and sarsaparilla dance around with much heavier notes of cinnamon, black pepper and... chlorine. I swear, I'm not making that up! I've spent five years working at a pool, I know it when I smell it. For me, that definitely ruins this rum when it comes to sipping, but I'm sure this could still do quite a bit in cocktails; great for adding a spice kick without sugaring up the drink!

This is quality rum that had spices added. It's akin to a homemade spiced rum in that a personal spice mixture is added to it. Very heavy Clove taste, light cinnamon, Nutmeg, allspice, and a candied Citron. It is very apparent that there is no added sugar, it's not sweet but packs a satisfying bite.
