The La Mauny 2005 is the best Agricole of the last 15 Years. Great!

Smell: Darker smell that alternates between Agricole and Rum. Sugar cane, dried fruits (raisins, cherries), grassy aromas, some peppery notes. Caramel, fermented fruits / herbs (sage, lavender), light vanilla from the Bourbon barrel. It is somewhat similar to the JM 2004 of Kirsch Whisky.
Very rich Agricole and with a nice balance.
Taste: Sweet start with fermented fruits and sugar cane, wood in the form of paper / cardboard, the peppery aromas develop, dried fruits are included. The sweetness gives way and the salty component comes in. More pepper and herbs / grassy aromas are added. Sage with burnt sugar, a few bitter substances.
The finish is spicy with pepper, sugar cane and fermented fruits, cloves.
Aftertaste: grassy aromas, fermented fruits, sugar cane, cloves
Conclusion: A very good Agricole that is very rich in aromas and has a nice intensity. 49.7% fit very well.
