Got a bottle of Mount Gay Premium White Rum from a local grocery store on my last night here at Mexico City. Bottle and label design looks dull and basic. Strong alcohol and such a burn to your nose and palate. This is not a neat sipper due to such a strong burn, so mix it up with your favorite soda.

Not usually a white rum drinker but this was very good. Tasted refreshing and made a great rum & coke.

Far superior to Bacardi.

On the rocks this rum is light. To be fair, I need to try more before saying that this brand is over-rated like Captain Morgan.

As much of silver rums, it is good for mixing and create dry rum drinks!

Made some great mojitos with this Mount Gay Premium White where it gave a nice hint of rum while allowing the mint and citrus to shine through.

This is a good solid option for rum and cokes if you're looking for a clean taste without much character. Not saying that in a bad way. It just is what it is.

This review is for the newer bottling now called simply "silver" not "Eclipse silver" any longer. There is a lack of boldness which I guess should be expected... at least if it were a Puerto Rico White rum. It is not very interesting on the palate either rather neutral very faint spice, alcohol, bland. A surprising disappointment from mount gay! Its been a while since I had their older "Eclipse silver" I will have to do a comparison to see if the rum has changed and not just the name/bottle, I believe I have a bottle in my collection. Clearly this rum is targeting the mixing crowd even though a bit overbearing on the alcohol. Not what I expected, not terrible either.

This is a solid mixing rum, nothing great.
