Visited the Neisson distillery while vacationing in Martinique. Self guided distillery tour ended with an open tasting bar. Neisson Profil 105 Bio was priced at EUR 23 per bottle at the distillery. Unique frosted glass bottle design with no label. Light golden color. Traditional sweet Rhum Agricole flavors complemented with plenty of grass, some florals, a lot of oak and some citrus notes to the nose and palate. Strong burn at the end. Rhum Agricole fan boys can easily add 2 points to my score.
Cherry, cedar, varnish, all the good stuff with the signature vegetal note of agricole. Great stuff, and again, could easily fool avid bourbon drinkers, particularly ones that love the profile of Four Roses!
Lehké dřevo a oříšky dominují na nose, chuť je lehká zase dřevo oříšky doplněné lehkou vanilkou a sušeným ovocem.
Pretty neutral on nose, notes of cane.
Somehow harsh, burning on tongue. Quickly becomes smooth and pleasant on palate.
Oak, dried fruits, nuts, cane and spicyness. Not that regular spices like salt and pepper, instead something intriguing, like Indian rich.
Let it breathe for 5min and enjoy one of the best ever rum ;)
What a surprise from Neisson ! It's an ESB with all qualities from white rhum and Xo ! Fresh and spicy, strong and subtile. Go for it now !

Very nice. 8 out of 10
Picked this bottle up while driving through germany. It’s not available in Dk. Aged in lightly toasted French and American oak (zebra barrels) for 24 months. The nose is medium full, you dont notice the 54,2% vol. Notes of caramel, musty grapes, grass, wood and vanilla flows generously from the glass. There’s also a bit of orange and lemon. Very nice.
The taste is medium bodied and slightly bold, but surprisingly well behaved considering the abv. It starts of with caramel, cinnamon and wood, then grapes and the grassy notes takes over. There’s a fresh citrus note throughtout the palate. The finish gets a bit dry and spicy with black pepper, nutmeg and anisseed. It lingers nicely. I think this is very good value with qualities from both the French and American oak. (8,5)
