Mount Gay Eclipse

Not bad, but unsatisfactory.
There is certainly taste of Mount Gay, but it is quite thin.
"Old Cask Selection" is awesome, "XO" is very good, "Black Barrel" is good, this "Eclipse" is bellow the lower limit, for me.
I'm not satisfied.

Mount Gay rums generally have a great flavour profile, but I found this one rather bland. Really quite rough to drink neat, but flavours are awoken once mixed with ice, a lime wedge and coke.

Nose - Vanilla, banana, light
Taste - Similar to nose, burn is light

In the category of Bajan rums, there are better options for the same or less cost.
You can get something more aged and has oaky notes.
If your options are limited, this will do.

I was introduced to this when I was younger from my uncle who used to take surf trips to Barbados. He recommended I try it with ginger ale and a lime which soon after became my favorite drink. Years later still a great sweetness to this rum and I prefer to mix it rather than drink it neat or on the rocks. Good value and better than any white, gold, or spiced generic rum like Captain Morgan or Bacardi.

Disappointing. Can't drink it neat, it's a push to use for mixing, likely to end up in the drain tbh, won't ever buy again, but willing to try their higher end bottles

Oak, some smoke

Very light, generic

Somewhat astringent but remains pleasant

Bit of burn, but of brown sugar, nothing else. Dull.

Jedna sa o rum bez akehokolvek pridaneho cukru, takze chut je fakt sucha, pripomina whisky, urcite to niekomu chutit moze, ja si to ale viac nekupim :)

For me is this the perfect Rum to mix Cocktails :-)

Bardzo lubię rumy z Barbados. Niestety ten mnie zawiodl. Kompletnie nie mój smak. Ma coś co mnie odrzuca. Nawet w koktajlu jest ciezki.
