Coloma 8-Year

It seems to have some sugar added, which is slightly balanced by the bitters from coffee and dark chocolate. IMO there should be less sugar added to achieve a better balance in flavors. In nose, it is very interesting the oaky smell.

Na základe recenzií som sa tešil na túto známu Kolumbijskú značku. Moje očakávania sa však nenaplnili, vôňa nebola plná. Chuť to mierne vylepšila,no nebola z môjho pohľadu vyvážená. Skôr pikantná,nevyzerá.

Interessant smag og duft. Kan ikke sætte en finger på hvad den dufter af.

Dry, wood tannins from barrel with a bit of coffee, probably basis of what Dictador is before they spice it up with additives.

Nose: conifers, burnt barrel, maybe even some thyme and rosemary. Very interesting, pleasant and unusual
Palate: not as exciting as in the nose, but still ok. Some hints of coffee liquor.

Good taste, vanilla - light body. There is some potential to be discovered.

Nice alternative to dictador rum family. Very pleasant smell of wood, tobacco and coffee. In taste flavours of vanilla, dark chocolate, coffee and oak. Nice rum when you want to try something not that sweet.

I was very interested to try this rum after reading that it's finished in barrels used for coffee liqueur. So, I was expecting to be overpowered with a coffee nose and taste but it's a very subdued taste. What comes through is the Oak taste which is a good thing in my book. It's a little on the sweet side so I'm guessing that sugar has been added but I can't know for sure. All in all I'm intrigued and want to try more.

Bereits in der Nase würzig mit etwas süsser Rauchnote, leicht fruchtig nach Rosinen und etwas Holz.
Im Mund dann leicht süss mit etwas Schokolade und Kaffee, wenig Fruchtig.
Die Einflüsse vom Fass sind hier gut merklich und fein eingebunden.
Gefällt mir sehr gut.
