Rum Nation Trinidad 5-Year

Ricco di note agrumate e papate, gusto morbido e delicatamente dolce.

Light gold color, this rum has notes of prune, sherry and vanilla in the nose. The aging Oloroso Sherry is very present. On the palate, we found some pastry notes, very greedy and warm. Wood and vanilla are present. The finish is not very long but it is a well made rum.

Mild rom med blød næse og meget tydelig spor af sherry finishen.

I only had a short shot to sample in a shop so I could not make a real tasting.
But on the first glance, I got some smoothness and a very strong (but pleasant) sherry and wooden taste from the cask.

Davvero un buon rum, profumato e poco spiritato, sorprende considerando sia invecchiato solo 5 anni..ma si sa che si invecchiatura ci sono tante bufale!

Very tasty rum from Trinidad with 46% of alcohol, sweet aroma but dry taste.

This is a surprisingly nice rum for only 5 years in the barrel. That is why I gave it a 7.5 in the title. His weaknesses is that on the nose is almost nothing compared to the mouth and that is a thing I do not like. Maybe some more years and it would improve. In the mouth you can feel the 46 abv kicking your mouth, that is a good point for me. Pepper, lemon, bananas, very dry, best with a piece of dark chocolate 85%, didn't notice the coconut that was said in the description. Nice sherry finish that gives a round and long finish, but if you don't fancy that you should not buy this one. Overall nice quality for the price (33€ here in Italy), if you look for something similar to the spiciness of Mount Gay Black Barrel but with different finish and flavours.
