This is definitely not one of the best rum I have ever had. The price gives the expectation of a far better rum than it actually is. Bit of a disappointment, will not buy it again.

Isn't it weird that you never see this in the DR where it's made?

This rum is fairly sweet and somewhat bitter because of oak. It's also smooth and oak. Pretty good except oak. Oak? Oak. Did I mention oak? ...because, oak. Not bad, but oak.

That's some easy stuff to drink. Polyvalent rum. For a novice who wants to try out some of the undisputed rum names. You gonna like it. When your palate is able to differentiate some very good stuff, you gonna enjoy to have a Matusalem Solera 15 for a nice and elaborated long drink to enjoy with your friends during a nice summer barbecue. And you will drink something else neat as a digestive.

Well well well. Toffee, creamy aroma, a bit too sweet. Basic companion for every day.

On the nose. Sweet smell of alcohol and the taste is alcohol and has a burning linger in your stomach. If you told me it was a 2y or 7y I would expect it, not from a 15y. Probably good for mixing but not a sipper.

Don't use as sipper. In nose only alcohol, taste like cheap rum , for such price can find better.

On first smell it is sweet with a sherry aged profile.

On first taste, there is an instant sweetness that is quickly overtaken by an alcohol taste with nothing I can distinguish.

So I chucked a couple of blocks of ice in and let settle, this normally opens up the rum and let's in a new profile.

However this was still a strong bite, still sweet and no real profile.

Overall pretty disappointed with it for the price.

Much better rums out there for the same if not cheaper price.
