HSE Ragtime 1-2 Years

Un fan de whisky à découvert alors qu'il ne connaît rien en rhum des parfums de bourbon
Après recherches effectivement il a été élevé en fut de Bourbon
Sensation de rondeur en bouche
Très agréable

Jeune et facile à boire ce rhum plaira à un large publique. Il est plus doux que son frère le HSE Black Shérif et un peu moins typé Whisky. il pèche cependant par une longueur en bouche assez courte.

Young and easy to drink this rum will please a wide public. He is sweeter than his brother the HSE Black Sheriff and a little less typical Whiskey. It nevertheless sins by a short length in the mouth.

Nouvelle référence 2017, le "ragtime" est un rhum ayant vieilli quelques mois dans des fûts de chêne. Il s'agit d'un rhum ambré. Titre 40°.
Bouteille : bouteille standard HSE, le rhum a une belle couleur ambre clair.
Nez : agréable, vanillé
Attaque: douce, vanille, boisé puis alcool et tanins présents sans être envahissants.
Finale : petite amertume en finale (tanins).
Un bon rhum, doux et accessible, idéal pour découvrir le rhum agricole.

Une entrée de gamme honnête mais sans grande complexité et qui ne sort pas vraiment du lot.

Had just a sample of this young Agricole that I got from the Rum Ratings Tasting Club.
It’s a selection of agricole rums aged in new 200 liters American oak casks for 12 to 24 months.
HSE is made at the distillery Le Simon which is the same distillery that produces Clement and A1710.
From the distillery it’s said: “This rum will delight both in a Ti-Punch as well as in cocktails.”, but I’ve tested it neat and thinks it works well that way.
From nose, via mouth and palate to the medium long finish it’s woody, nutty, spicy, fruity with hints of vanilla.
Overall an tasty and smooth Agricole.

Gold medalist at Paris in 2022. As a fan of agricoles I usually don’t like young or middle-aged dark rhums, but this blend is absolutely fenomenal. The grassy soil punch is nicely present and not over-powered by charred barrels’ notes like they usually are. It’s very good on it’s own . I haven’t tried it in other coctails besides cuba libres where it’s outstanding. Very-very good, get one!

Not exactly my taste, though not a bad rum. In the foreground there is grass, wood and nuts. More subtle are notes of fruits and spice.
