A complex nose with wood, spices of nuts and a sumptuous mouth. The alcohol is there but does not take precedence over the flavors. This rum is round, long in the mouth, complex. Probably one of the best old rum I have ever tasted. So obviously the price is high (170 € at the distillery) but this rum is really worth it.
You can smell the baril.
very dry and plank taste but very soft for a 49.7% alcool

A Solid Body 9 out of 10
With an amber colour, this rum releases at first nose very quickly solvent notes that fade quickly to arrive on the brown sugar, candied fruit but also white fruits such as pear or maybe green one like the apple. Quite confusing actually. On the palate, the alcohol is present, it is robust, dry but pleasant. The white fruits are still there but nuts and spices are there too. Pepper and nutmeg. The woody finally takes its place and we arrive on a beautiful finale with chocolate. It's powerful, beautiful, nice. A real Neisson. Tasted : the 2004 Batch 3 - 52.7%
