I have to say that I did not find my way to agricole rums yet. But.. it is suprisingly smooth for 3y old rum and has aroma with notes of raisins, tropical fruit and oak. In taste hints of vanilla, wood and fruit. Good to try but definitly not for the whole evening.

i tried this one once, and never want it, because it has to much taste of rare alcohol & not enough taste.

Vanilla in the nose, vanilla in the mouth and vanilla after-taste.
Too sweet and full of vanilla flavour to be natural.
Having said that Im a vanilla lover andit's not bad vanilla but it's definitely too sweey for my palate.

Excellent, dry agricole rum from Madeira. The wood is well integrated.

Family business, which own also hotels, quintas on the Portuguese island Madeira. Since some years it has been pushing their marketing, selling the white and gold rum at many stores on the mainland including tax free at the airports of Lisbon and Porto (and I assume Faro too).

Aguardente de cana is how the Portuguese call rum, and in the previous bottle versions, the naming of rum was secondary. Now RUM is placed prominent on the lable - makes it less 'exotic' or niche for me, new design gives me a feel a cheap bulk rum bottle.

It's a agricole rum, aged 3 years in French oak. Surprised of the vanilla tones, though with some chemical nose finish. For an agricole smooth in the mouth, not that much oak power, though a few drops of water made it to a six score here. Prefer to use this rum in a cocktail, then sipping.
