Bottle purchased in Chattanooga.pours clear with the great baking dough signature aroma. I really like this because it has all the same signature flavors as the 59, without the big burn. Candy apple flavor explosion at the end.
I fully understand why people enjoy the higher proof Pere Labat varieties, but there is something to be said for this excellent expression of a low proof agricole. The low proof makes it feel a bit too sweet for me to give it a higher rating, but the flavor is wonderful. Clean, grassy, classic agricole. If you see this one at a decent price, buy it.
After having tried and loved the 50° Père Labat (and of course the classic 59), I was excited to try this version. Unfortunately, I was left wanting. While it's an ok rhum agricole if you can't find anything else, it's definitely lacking any flare that the other PL offerings possess.
