Feiner Taste, etwas rauher Abgang. Guter Durchschnitt

Tried against the 15, 18 and 21 year old. Very smooth, but just not as good it's younger 21 year old brother.

Geruch nach Zitrusfrüchten, Zuckerrohr, fein.
Farbe ein dunkles Bernstein.
Im Geschmack findet man ebenfalls die Geruchsnoten wieder, plus Karamell,
ein wenig Holznote, im langen Abgang eine natürliche Süße.

Fazit: ein sehr guter Rum, der sich nur wenig vom 21 und 18 jährigen absetzen kann. Er ist ein wenig runder als seine Brüder, Geschmacklich ein wenig feiner.
Aber alle 3 Malecons sind unter meinen Top 10 Rumsorten bis jetzt und werden immer nachgekauft. Schmecken einfach sehr gut !
Meiner Meinung nach hat Malecon ein sehr gutes Preis/ Leistungsverhältnis !

Tasted together with Malecon 15, this 25yo brother is smoother, more complex, yet i feel some afterburn with both, smoked Davidoff Dominican Primeros while drinking, it didnt bring up much sweetness, I heard no sugar added in them which might be a goodd thing for whole bottle evening talk with friend compared to overly sweet rums... will give it a try later

Bold, complex and yet smooth as silk. This has bite but is so balanced. Chocolate, coffee, currant, vanilla and oak notes. Nothing dominates. 25 years has melded these flavors into one great rum. The end result is greater than the sum of its ingredients. That is art in distilling and aging. SUPERB!

The Ron Malecon Reserva Imperial is a molasses blend from Panama. The rums were allowed to be stored in oak barrels for at least 25 years. The rum is stored in caves and produced in the Cuban style. The amber-coloured rum comes in an unexcited bottle. I like the embossed Maelcon lettering. No sugar is added to the rum and bottled with 40% alcohol.

The Malecon is nice in the nose without being too intrusive. Nutty woody notes with caramel are in the glass. On the palate, it is immediately spicy and aromatic. In fact, it remains nutty and the long storage is noticeable. Oak notes, chocolate and tropical fruits make the rum full-bodied, complex enough and interesting. You taste the 25 years. The sharpness of the rum is noticeable but overall well integrated. The finish is creamy sweet at first and is then captured by woody slightly smoky notes.

The Malecon is a great rum with a good body. It has a lot of natural sweetness and at the same time nutty woody aromas. 25 years of storage for the price (no solera) is not often found. Just like the 20 years of Rare Proof. Just the low ABV is a little sad and makes it fall down a little.

Der Ron Malecon Reserva Imperial ist ein Melasse Blend aus Panama. Die Rums durften mindestens 25 Jahre in Eichenholz Fässern lagern. Der Rum wird in Höhlen gelagert und nach kubanischer Art hergestellt. Der Bernstein farbender Rum kommt in einer unaufgeregten Flasche. Der eingeprägte Maelcon Schriftzug gefällt mir gut. Dem Rum wird kein Zucker hinzugefügt und mit 40% Alkohol abgefüllt.

Der Malecon ist sehr interessant in der Nase ohne zu aufdringlich zu sein. Nussig holzige Noten mit Karamel sind im Glas. Am Gaumen ist er sofort würzig und aromatisch. Tatsächlich bleibt er nussig und und die lange Lagerung macht sich bemerkbar. Eichenholz Noten, Schokolade und tropische Früchte machen den Rum vollmundig, komplex und interessant. Man schmeckt die 25 Jahre. Die Schärfe des Rums ist bemerkbar aber insgesamt gut eingebunden. Der Abgang ist erst cremig süß und wird dann durch holzige leicht rauchige Noten eingefangen.

Der Malecon ist ein guter Rum. Er hat viel natürliche Süße und gleichzeitig nussig holzige Armonen. 25 Jahre Lagerung für den Preis (kein Solera) ist nicht häufig zu finde. Genau wie der 20 Jahre Rare Proof. Lecker. Nur mehr Promille könnte er dann doch vertragen. Daher fällt er insgesamt in der Bewertung ab.

Not so good as expected from a 25 years old rum. No coherence between the flavours.

I think there is not a big difference to Malecon 21.

Aroma: Těžší dřevo, kůže, těžce květinové aroma. (86 b)
Chuť: Velmi vyzrálý, dřevo ale začíná dominovat. Lékořice, kůže, opálené dřevo, v dochuti až dřevěné uhlí. Oproti 21 yo přibylo dřeva a taninů, což už je spíš ke škodě, dřevitost mi už přijde rušivá. I přesto má něco do sebe, vyzrálost je fajn. (86 b)

Shrnutí: Ochutnal jsem na další společné ochutnávce s kamarádem. Tentokrát tvořila jádro degustace šestice single cask rumů od Rum & Cane, tuto sestavu pak doplnily rumy Malecon 21 yo a 25 yo. Tento skončil na 3. místě z osmi (Hunter 4.-5., josé 1.-3.).
