Plantation Original Dark Double Aged Trinidad & Jamaica

This is a rum that has no signature nose and taste of rum.
A lot from cognac, probably because of second ageing in cognac barrels in France.
There are a little of Jamaica 10-15 year old spirits (Pot Still) and that's why it hits you strongly after first 40ml.
Nose - a very nice pineapple, cognac, dryness and freshness, no spirit.
Palate: cognac notes, pineapple, prunes, oak and funny dryness and freshness. Own character, without analogues.
I found that empty glass smells with pinapple.
The more you drink, the more you like it.
Unfortunately there are no signature nose and taste of melassa/sugar cane/vanilla, so it might seem like it's not rum.
Very easy to drink and the morning is very clear.

Easy to drink, but lacks flavor for sipping rum....

The benchmark under 20€ nothing to say more👊 buy it, taste it, think about the price and be amazed!

Not a bad rum but have had better. Not the traditional smooth easy drinking rum.

Kind of interesting thing - fine aroma, rich taste and so on. It even could be drinked neat but it is not "original dark". It have quite light body and taste so it cant be used in cocktails... Alas!

Nuz, az som Bozkovu dal 2 z toho nieco naviac, ze je zo susednych luhov a hajov, v hodnoteni tohoto rumu, ktory mi Bozkov pripomína, iba nie je az tak desivo sladky nemam co navyse pridat. Trocha vanilky, perníkove korenie a kopec cukru. Nechuti mi ani v daiquiri, kde sa uplne straca.

Zo základných Plantation najlepší. Aj čo sa tela týka a aj dochute. Aj keď komerčne postavené mixy.

Mid gold colour, lightly burnt, caramel, buttery, sweet winey finish
