I wouldn’t really call it dark rum , its a little lighter, which to me makes it easy to drink neat, or preferably with a dash of lime or angostura bitters and a single ice cube.
Good mixer you can taste the difference.
I tried their white rum which I found a little sweet which put me off trying any other of their many offerings, I finally couldnt resist at £20 on sale at asda , and I was glad I did !
I prefer this ti the flor de cana 12 yr old I also bought at asda for £35, which I regret a little.
Very nice dark sipper rum. Overall delightful, slightly smoky and sweet taste which induces a pleasant warm feel. Straight up one of my favorite rums.
This is so far bedt option for price quality. It is not expencive but surprisingly good. Did several timesand absolutelly satisfayed
You can't go wrong with that. Tasty and not expensive.
Smells and tastes a lot like brandy or cognac. The initial brandy flavor quickly subsides into a rich, darker rum flavor. Complex flavor with a lot of woodiness (and something like cedar undertones). Definitely worth a try, especially if you're a Plantation or Appleton Estate lover looking for something a little darker.
nice fruity taste, finished with warm vanilla, smell is so good, melasa with banana, a little bit milky, thats good dark rum, could be sipper but much better for mixed, it is worth for buy, also good for beginners.
Aroma is cognac-like (probably because of cognac cask): fruits, dried prunes and some chocolate - pleasant and soft, spirit harshness is low.
Aftertaste is the same - fruits and grape, short and pleasant. Taste is not strong - more harsh than sweet, again very cognac-like and with spirit roughness. As a second thought, it's not a mild sipper and it feels like it's too stiff (but strangely its body seems normal).
This is a rum that has no signature nose and taste of rum.
A lot from cognac, probably because of second ageing in cognac barrels in France.
There are a little of Jamaica 10-15 year old spirits (Pot Still) and that's why it hits you strongly after first 40ml.
Nose - a very nice pineapple, cognac, dryness and freshness, no spirit.
Palate: cognac notes, pineapple, prunes, oak and funny dryness and freshness. Own character, without analogues.
I found that empty glass smells with pinapple.
The more you drink, the more you like it.
Unfortunately there are no signature nose and taste of melassa/sugar cane/vanilla, so it might seem like it's not rum.
Very easy to drink and the morning is very clear.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Easy to drink, but lacks flavor for sipping rum....
