Naozaj príjemny rum, plno dreva, cítim mierne dym, ovocné tóny a plný stareny rum. Som vďačný za ochutnanie a je skutočne skvelý i keď netreba čakať typickú esterovu Jamajku
Sampled this side by side with the rest of my bottle of 21. They are both excellent rums and noting similarities with the little brother. But the Joy just overpowers with depth and great lingering tones from the extra aging. Then it finishes with a hint of classic Jamaican funk. Dark golden brown not very sweet just tons of depth. Going straight to the top shelf too hard to come by.
This Rum is of the charts and the price is too but worth every penny. Way to many flavors for me to describe but it's worthwhile you won't be disappointed
One of the best Rums made.
A little pricey at $300.00 (Canadian).
I’ve not rated a rum on here a ten yet but I am proud to say this is my first. I’ve never warmed to the Appleton rums therefore my expectations were not high. However the moment I tasted Appleton joy 25 year rum this completely changed. It’s one of the nicest rums I have ever tried. The ages rums are usually quite harsh but this is SMOOTH, STRONG AND SWEET. Perfect.
So smooth, but still a Jamaica rum.
Lots of flavour, but not too much.
Great choice !
Tasted in Drinks By The Dram - The Rum Advent Calendar (2019 Edition)
Compared with the 21YO this is a positive step forward. All the aromas from 21 are now present in a more refined way. Nicely balanced with the alcohol strength. A little bit overpriced compared with the 21YO but in a reasonable range.
N- Sweet molasses and tropical fruits, light funk and a barrel spice (maybe oak).
P- hear the oak comes, a nice oak and sweet balance here, the funk is still light, green banana is the main fruit I get along with papaya (both with a crystallized sugar coating)
F - it’s drier than expected, the oak and spice are relentless, (sips of water between rum helps the flavors come through), ripe tropical fruits linger in the end and caramel pokes through.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
