Kraken Black Spiced Rum was first introduced by Proximo Spirits in 2010 . The dark rum is infused with 11 “secret” spices, caramel and other natural flavors.
The rum gets its name after the mythical sea creature 'The Kraken'. As legend has it, this terrifying creature attacked ships at sea during the 18th and 19th centuries - possibly for all the rum on board.

typically i don't drink spiced rums unless they are great, this one tries to be great.

It reminds me of infused lakrits in vodka; the rum is almost salty. I kind of like it though.

I actually got this rum as a present and did not expect much from it. It turned out to be OK to drink straight. Not great but ok.

This is my go to rum when having lots of company over with mixed drinks.
First impressions of this is that it has a lot of caramel coloring added. When poured the rum stays almost pure black with no reddy tones. On the nose it's sweet, vanilla and almond. Mixed with cola it maintains that sweetness but there's a roughness from what I imagine a young gold rum base so ming through prominently. Nice enough but nothing incredible or new. Probably on a par with Morgans spiced gold if I'm honest.

I bought the BIG bottle of this and it took a while to get through. It is not bad with Coke, but I like my rum on the rocks.

Furry taste and great kick power. This is cool option for taste spiced rum as first, or even it is best spiced rum i have ever tried. Best taste on ice or with coke. Lime could be added. In fact i don't like spiced rums but this one is coll for show and make some ppl interested in rum world. Nice design.
