Kraken Black Spiced

A decent spiced rum. Useful in a mix with ginger beer.

Few spiced rums I like, this one I love

I've read that this (like other black or spiced rums) is excellent mixed with ginger beer. But my personal favorite is to mix it with Dr. Pepper. The flavors compliment each other tremendously. But unlike Captain Morgan or Sailor Jerry (both of which I like in mixers), the Kraken is actually VERY good as a sipping rum, on the rocks or neat, as well. This is a SOLID spiced rum.

I was hesitant to try this rum when it first came out. I wasn't sure what to expect. Since I always have a large variety of rum on hand it wasn't a priority. I finally took the plunge & was pleasantly surprised. Not one to drink straight in my opinion but mixed with Cola it came out very well. Not one you want to over do it with but a mildly strong drink will hit the spot. Mixes incredibly well with Dr. Pepper so I recommend making that.

Genuinely love this stuff! Defo up there in my top 3 spiced rums for sure. I really like the bottle and the brand aswell as the contents. Its very rich & spicy, yet suprisingly smooth at the same time. Great on the rocks or with a mixer.

Fairly potent spiced rum, mixes well but can be sipped too. I don't understand why people would buy Captain Morgan or sailor Jerry when this is readily available.

IMO not quite on par with "The lash" (which is rather hard to find but worth it if you can) or Brinley's shipwreck, but I always keep a bottle in stock.

I fell in love with the bottle, the concept, everything... not often that advertising and a brand image hooks me in... then I drank some and remembered how much I loved rum. Everything about this product invokes magical times. Great stuff both neat and mixed. We feature a bottle on the cover of our Rock The Reactors facebook page! That's how much we love it!!!

This is my favorite black spiced rum with Coke.

Pleasant surprise. I thought all the hype would be just that. Much better than I expected, and with a nice little kick. Definitely would recommend giving it a try.
