Kraken Black Spiced

its kraken, its perfectly decent, okay straight, good to use in a nice cocktail

Dark and spicy, probably the darkest rum I have tried. Had this bottle in the cupboard for nearly a year and only opened it tonight, glad I did, may well be my new go to rum every day rum

Dark rum with lots of molasses and spice - needs to be mixed with cola for sure
Vaguely reminds one of Old Monk from India - which does have a large following

I was drinking Captain a bunch during covid. Decided to try Kraken and it was a very nice change. After a few months it hit me like a tone of bricks one day of how sweet it is. Havent had it much since. Could be good in frozen drinks.

The bottle is a bit gimmicky, but this is a pretty tasty black rum. Also great for Dark & Stormies.

Kraken is definitely one of my favourite rums, it is smooth and easygoing, definitely something I would recommend to my friends. Only issue I may have is that it is kinda pricey for a rum. (For Reference: $75-$85 for a 700ml bottle in Australia 2024)

So I got this rum recently, I tried a tiny bottle of it and thought it was smooth and sweet. It's got heavy vanilla and caramel notes. Not terriblr in a mixed drink or on its own if you enjoy sweet things.

I love strong alcohols, and kraken made me love rum. It has smooth start, little bit of vanilla flavor and harsh finish that is too much for many. I know it's not the "real rum" beacuse it's spiced, but imo it's the best spiced rum available for the price, far better than capitan morgan or bacardi.

I liked it as mixer with coke and bottle is cool. Tried it neat lately and it's better than expected. Taste like almonds hard candy.
