You're looking for a "Very Good" rum to have instead of the wretched Bacardi white, this one will amply do the trick at a similar or lower price.

Nose: Smells like vodka.
Feel: Quite oily. Not too much bite.
Taste: Sweet white sugar.
Price: 38 CAD for 1.13L

For when you need to make lots of rum punch for a party, but little other uses. Probably wouldn't use in a Daiquiri unless pressed for options.

Better than Bacardi, Worse than Captain Morgan (which I found surprisingly good) and Havana Club.

First this IS NOT what appleton white looks like. Its a clear rum like bacardi superior. Smells of STRONG vanilla and light alcohol. Drinking a white rum straight 9/10's is a bad idea and this one wasn't an acceptation. VERY harsh straight. The reason most white rums are harsh is because of their age being very young only 2-3 years! So mixing with coke is a must! Very very good in coke though. Its harshness is all gone and replaced with heat. Its simple but I enjoy it for a white rum, strong hints of vanilla and some sweetness that stands out. Not much else to it but its actually really pleasant all together so I give it a good rating.

A great mixer, considering the price and if u are tired of Bacardi.

As far as white rums go, this is pretty good. Definitely not a sipping rum and is a bit harsh but still has some good sugar cane flavor that comes through immediately. Take it for what it is intended. This is a good inexpensive white rum begging to be mixed.

This has a mildly pungent Jamaican rum flavor but it's a little harsh. A few friends like mixed drinks with a mild rum taste and this works with juice or a rum and tonic. It's fairly inexpensive too. I prefer this over the Myers version.

Basic white rum. Bought it to infuse and left a dose to taste. Smell is very neutral, can let me think it's a rum issued from clean molasses. In mouth it feels very oily and then all I get is peppercorn, black pepper. Almost gave it a 4.

As other reviews have said, this is not a sipping rum by any means. I use it for mojiyos mostly.

I actually really enjoyed this rum for mixers. It was great with Soda and Lime, Cuba Libre and Mojito's. Had a taste neat and could taste the vanilla but not great for sipping.
