i guess this one will need no words of mine for those well versed in rum tasting.
but for those new to rum, please understand that rums have variety of flavors not just sweetness.
i wouldn't recommend to beginners but definitely would with moderates and surely well experienced rum drinkers would already know of the quality of this rum.
I love this rum nice strong aroma, beautiful color, spice, lovely finish
This is my go to rum for making drinks. Though it is at the bottom level of the Appleton line, it gives great flavor to anything and everything.
Its a pleasent rum to drink, and mix with. Not a cubain but a very nice rum for mojito, very well balanced and with nice vanilla flavors
Title says it all. Nothing better for a rum and coke. A really good squeeze of lime makes it even better.
Pot Still underpins this Jamaican offering and for me, makes it my go to for Rum and coke.
Very nice rum my local keno had this its a good go to rum instead of bacardi with coke
Really good with coke but just fine with a big block of ice too.
I like jamaica rum, it is spiced, lots of cynamon notes, caramel, vainilla, some banana, oak and tasty. It is an ambar and dense rum, medium body kind of long finish. Good for sipping great for mixing!

Entry-level rum in the Appleton Estate family
"Appleton Estate V/X rum review by The Rum Howler"
One of the most ancient distilleries of them all
"Appleton Estate V/X rum review by Steve Crotty via Rum & Reviews"
Gives a fairly pungent scent of molasses, black pepper and sweet alcohol.
"A touch of vanilla and ginger. There is still a hit of molasses on the nose and some spiced black pepper. The rum is quite delicate initially. It is a hot spicy rum."

All-time classic! 10 out of 10
Appleton rum with cold, freshly squeezed orange juice...preferably on a beach in Negril, Jamaica...life doesn't get much better than that!
