... but i say it .. in my oppinion (I like ron, i have ron ...not since yesterday)...
I bougt a bottle of this Ron ... because 10 People of our Ron community wanted to taste it...
And my oppinion and the oppinion of the most people was ... it is a typical Cuban Ron ... heavy, an in the mouth you dont think that is "one" there a to much "tastes" that not will belong together ... I would pay no more then 60 Euro for this, what is inside the Bottle (0,5 l) The Bottle himselve is nice ....and you have with this bottle ... a nice Story in your Ron-Bar... but not more.... I think many people wich give a Rating before me, dont wanted to say to himselves "Shit so much money ... for something like this"

Aroma is nicely smooth with wood, raisin, vanilla caramel. Taste is sweet, caramel, wood, sugar cane and molasse. Aftertaste is long and smooth. Overal very good smooth and ballanced rum, but very overpriced and for my taste I'm missing bigger complexity and higher %. If priced around 70USD it could be 10points.

Many thanks to Joola69 for bringing this all the way from Europe to the United States where they don't sell Cuban rum.

This has a beautiful presentation. It comes in a HUGE glass bottle in a nice wooden case. The bottle is ridiculously heavy, as it is made of very thick glass, and includes a high-end glass cork. I had high hopes, especially for the bottle price of ~$1,750 for a relatively small 500ml.

But for my taste, this simply isn't one of my favorite rums. I prefer the Havana Club Union that Joola69 also brought, which was ~$400 for a 700ml bottle.

Smells and tastes of smoke, oak, fragrant tobacco, and spice. Very smooth. A bit on the dry side for my liking, though it does have a very mild sweetness to it.

If God was reincarnated in a bottle of rum, it would be this bottle. The mouth feel is rich and deep with chocolate, leather, tobacco, and citrus fruits, and an inherent spiciness. Almost no burn with an extreme smoothness and it lingers on the tongue. The smell is to die for.

Tenhle rum me nezaujal a za tu cenu to opravdu nestoji. Ocekaval jsem vetsi pecku. Lahev je zde opravdu mistrovsky kousek 7,5/10.

I was attending on a tasting session where this was introduced. One of the guys described this perfectly: When you have a perfect wife who is beautiful, cooks well, is wonderful in bed ... But you would still cheat because you might get bored of her.

Maximo IS a good rum. It is full-bodied, sherry-like notes, fruits...But it is also well overpriced.

It's a very expensive rum. The best one from Havana Club. I liked its flawour - for me was a bit overripe fruits. this rum has a very great afterburn

A beautiful rum and presentation. The best of cuban rums in my opinion. Best shared with friends yet a bit pricey.

Nose is citrus, then at first sip there was a bit of walnut, it has dry wooden notes but it is complemented with sweet raisin flavor, very interesting and unusual combo. Reminds me of El Dorado 25y, but without the sweetener. Price is out of reach of most, but you get the top rum.
