Havana Club 7-Year Rum is distilled from fermented molasses and aged in charred white oak barrels for seven years.
Havana Club rum is still made in Cuba - where the company was founded by José Arechabala in 1878 and then nationalized in 1959 after the Cuban Revolution. Havana Club is now jointly owned by Pernod Ricard and the Cuban government.

Decent rum from Cuba. Cheap, you can find it everywhere and can easily satisfy your appetite for a classic Cuba Libre (if you have to choose between Captain Morgan)
I have had a curiosity as an American (Puerto Rican) rum lover for Havana Club. Taste wise (stand alone), this one was a bit of a downer, but mixed with Coke was actually great drink.
The rum is good enough to have me interested in getting the 15 year and Maestros version of it...if anything this covers my feelings...good enough to enjoy mixed and keep me open minded about the older ones.
Can’t find a reason to drink it straight, but it’s fine with coke ( although a tad too sweet perhaps) and a lot of lime. Given the usually pretty high price there are better alternatives around for this quality. Wanted to give it a 6, but too much quality lacking. Only to be served to guests, not friends.
I could play hopscotch with the chalk I taste when I drink this but since it's not a fruit flavoured rum it can't be lower than a 5.
I was introduced to aged rums while in Havana and this and the Santiago De Cuba 12 were the local reco's. This doesn't even come close to the sweetness and depth of the 12 year Santiago de Cuba, although I will say that when paired with a nice Cuban cigar it's quite palatable.
Når ikke der er andet på baren kan den dagtens drikkes, men nok bedst med cola...
Cuba has got much more to offer like Santiago or Legendario. This one is just commercial study. But ok to drink but nothing great
I am not sure of this rum personally. Some of my guest love it when they come around others are not keen.
It is not complex but it is the best dribk to make a Cuba Libre with
Havana Club Añejo 7 Años has a dazzling and clear mahogany colour...

Their is a creamy/buttery vanilla like smell oak, dry tobacco and smokiness.
"It’s very hot, spicy and very bitter. Luckily the burn isn’t bad and very short. Subsequent sips are much smoother."

On the nose there's a lot of flavors fighting for attention. Neat, this is nice but with coke I enjoy it better. I have tomuse a weaker ratio to tame the war of flavors.
