Havana Club 7-Year Rum is distilled from fermented molasses and aged in charred white oak barrels for seven years.
Havana Club rum is still made in Cuba - where the company was founded by José Arechabala in 1878 and then nationalized in 1959 after the Cuban Revolution. Havana Club is now jointly owned by Pernod Ricard and the Cuban government.

At this price level, this is THE rum. Havana 7 is always in my home bar and it is stuff that never stops surprising me with its complexity and aromatics.
My favorite rum that I judge all others against. Very much a molasses finish with great smoky flavors up front.
This was a gift from my beautiful wife on her cruise to Cuba. This is the Rum that made me want to have this as my drink of choice after dinner or just shooting the breeze with friends.

Great for drinking neat or with mixers at parties. Excellent for cocktails too.
Very smooth lovely drink neat, not as colourful as mount gay but easily worth paying £20 for. IMO is worth a lot more than £20 and def worth buying if you like sipping straight

Dont pour coke or put any ice in this. Enjoy it pure with à Cohiba. Bam ! Still One of my favorite !

I tend to focus on value for money in my reviews and I can tell you this rum delivers on that. My father and I have a Christmas eve tradition of sharing 2 glasses before bedtime and it is one of my favorite parts of the holiday. A truly smooth pleasure to sip neat, there is no need for ice or chilling. Just a nice snifter glass, some good company, and a cigar if that is to your liking. For the price, I don't know that there's a better widely available choice.
