Havana Club 7-Year Rum is distilled from fermented molasses and aged in charred white oak barrels for seven years.
Havana Club rum is still made in Cuba - where the company was founded by José Arechabala in 1878 and then nationalized in 1959 after the Cuban Revolution. Havana Club is now jointly owned by Pernod Ricard and the Cuban government.

6,5:The nose is both sweet and rather imposing. It's a light rum in terms of aroma, but not in terms of power. The sugar softens a rather dry, peppery woodiness, along with a few notes of fermentation that seem to have come back from afar even light smokiness. Aeration brings out sweet fruits, coffee that melt into a grenadine syrup that is nonetheless rather powerful and floral.
6:The palate is quite round and simple, with caramel and vanilla. The alcohol warms the taste buds and awakens a dark coffee.
6:The finish is rather sweet, but tickled by hints of pepper and slightly metallic alcohol.
Awesome 7 year rum for $30 (from Canada or the UK). Can’t believe we get the much inferior version of this here in the US for the same price :-(
Not my normal purchase but found this on a trip (couldn’t find my regulars). Nice smooth taste without a burn.
Elég markáns tiszta rum íz, semmi mellékíz, de összességében finom.
Smooth taste, nice to drink with a cigar. Gift from FoL
Ask the bar tender at the all inclusive for the top shelf, and this is where you end up. Still getting mixed, but at least you're gonna enjoy it. You wont be the type to have your head in the garden in the morning like the kids with blanco or 3yr, but you will be hitting the bacon tray hard at the buffet.
Havana Club Añejo 7 Años has a dazzling and clear mahogany colour...

Their is a creamy/buttery vanilla like smell oak, dry tobacco and smokiness.
"It’s very hot, spicy and very bitter. Luckily the burn isn’t bad and very short. Subsequent sips are much smoother."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Not as good as the Añejo Especial

Like what a lot of other said, its a very different rum compared to many of the other Havana Club products. Its a quite deep flavor of leather and tobacco, but also much stronger on the vanilla. Needless to say, its a very robust flavor. Its not great for sipping, and its not great for mixing. Its a good rum, but really just not for me. If you like very deep and strong flavors, this is probably a great rum for you, but if you like sweeter and brighter rums, the Añejo especial will be your friend much more.
