Havana Club rum is produced in Cuba, where the company was founded in 1878 by José Arechabala. The company was nationalized in 1959 after the Cuban Revolution and now jointly owned by Pernod Ricard and the Cuban government.

Not that great on its own, but brings a lot of depth to cocktails. Especially la pina de plata,el nacional and mojitos .

The bottle is of standard good quality with the archetypical Havana Club logo. The rum has a slightly golden colour and a grassy smell with a few hints of fruit and oak. Dominant taste of ethanol besides some fruit, maybe oak. Good for mixing, the rum's taste mostly survives when mixed. One could drink this neat, it tastes better than some other clear spirits :)

Not much flavour too it, but not a bad taste either. Can't imagine drinking it straight, but decent as a mixer.

Reminds me of pears eau-de-vie. Classic rum for mojito.

Havana Club 3 Jahre ist der typische Rum für Cuba libre. Aber es gibt für das Geld bessere.

I love this rum neat with 2-3 stainless ice cubes, it has a nice wood taste and a dry finish, not much ethanol burn for a young rum. At 24$ CAD in Quebec, it's a great deal.
