It is an ok rum. But nothing fancy nor interesting about it. Spend your money on other bottles instead.

Interesting strong alcohol rum with chocolate and caramel finish.

Light mahogany in the glass.
In the nose very changeable, freshly cut sugar cane and burnt hay, slightly caramelized and pulled through cocoa and decorated with spices, liquorice, lovage and some wood shavings. A muffled undertone of something resonates.
A little weak on the palate, slight nuances of caramel, vanilla, unripe white fruits.
In the finish some caramel with alcoholic spiciness and quickly gone.
Don't like Canarian rum, but will surely find its friends. For Explorers.

This rum walks the line of Rum and Agricole so it might be a nice starter for those wishing to start drinking agricoles but are turned off from the taste. It has a nice vanilla and almond nose with a smooth taste of oak, citrus and a hint of the herbal grass that agricoles are known for. I liked it for the most part but suspect that a little sugar was added.

Im not a fan of agricole rums but this one really supprised me. Very good aroma with hints of chocolate, fruit and sugar cane. In taste you can find flavours of fruit, vanilla, coconut and coffee. If you want to try find your way to agricole rums this is a good start.

Čekal jsem velkou bídu, takže příjemné překvapení. Velmi příjemně a lehce voní, chuť lehce drsná. Jen mě to přijde takové průměrné, zaměnitelné.

Rhum assez typique.

My sister brought me a bottle while traveling through the Canary islands. This is a decent rum straight or on the rocks, it almost taste like and aged Brandy, a little dry but a nice flavor with hint of toffee and spices.

I was quite happy with the Tradicion version but this one was not as satisfying. I know the Tradicion has 12 extra years of aging on it but it isn't that the Maestro is harsh; it has an odd, bitter taste to it that I can't put my finger on.
Plus the finish is too dry and leathery; and this is coming from a guy who likes dry rums.
