Very expensive, and a spectacular presentation, but hot, harsh, and bitterly oaky. Not worth the price at all.
Sladkost: 3/3
Ochutnán vzorek.
Parádní vůně navnadí, přílišná přeslazenost uzemní. Vzorek mi bohatě stačil - na můj vkus přespříliš sladký rum.
I’m a fan of the regular Gosling’s and it’s my go-to for a Dark and Stormy so I was looking forward to this one. However, I was left a little underwhelmed.
The nose is very nice with notes of caramel and fruit. However, the first taste is extremely sweet with tastes of chocolate and more caramel.
I think this would be nice as an dessert drink even if it is a little expensive.
Den är intressant men inte riktigt min smak, kan inte sätta fingret på vad det är.
This rum Is not worth its price point. The packaging must cost most of the money here because what is in it just isn't that impressive. It really falls short of me being able to recommend this. There is nothing special about it. It does not give me the impression of a very old rum.
Definitely a very unique rum - but for me not in a good way. I don't mind so much it's dark color but the taste reminds me of a bitte liquer. Obviously it is not quite there yet but it goes in the direction of a Kümmerling. I don't taste anything sweet in it, even after a while it is in the glass.
Initial smell is nice with sweet aroma but initial flavor misses but almost a second later you get a smooth, warming sensation of caramel sweetness that is enjoyable. Cool numbered bottle in cool case.
A nice rich dark rum, with a heavy burnt sugar aroma and taste. For the price it is smooth but not characteristic of anything, just burnt sugar.
40%. Don't let the packaging fool you... there's no age statement (NAS), so could be 2yo (or unaged) with a drop of 16. Also no additives disclosures. Notes: whoa, big chocolate chip cookie rum. Loads of brown sugar. Very rich and sweet. Very sweet. Slightly bitter, molasses-y finish, with a good bite.
A very strange experience, for this price point. I tried it at the house of a friend who is also into rum, and had been given a bottle by another friend. We all tried it, and praised certain qualities, but when the gifter left the room, my friend and I exchanged knowing looks. We were both pretty disappointed. There may only be 15g/L of added sugar, but the whole package is just sweet and messy. I'm really not impressed, and I don't want more. I don't drink rum for dessert. This is kind of an insult. And it just saddens me that so many people are willing to shell out so much cash for a mediocre rum when so many better ones are available for far less!

There are notes of sweet mixed fruit and a little bitter marmalade.
"Sipped the Family Reserve is initially very sweet. On the tongue, especially you get sweet caramel and a chocolate mouthful initially."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Relativ teuer. Nicht mein Favorit, aber auch nicht schlecht. Etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig für mich, erinnerte mich fast an Whiskey (natürlich nicht konkret vom Geschmack aber von der Komplexität her).
