Bermuda | Dark | 40% ABV

The James Gosling family business first produced Gosling Black Seal rum in 1806, and it is now the oldest surviving business on the island of Burmuda.

Gosling 'Black Seal' rum received it's name from the black wax originally used to seal the bottles. It is Bermuda's most widely exported product and considered the nation's national drink.

I think this stuff is to rum what Guinness is to beer - something different, and not for everyone.

It's not terribly good neat, but is nice in gingerale (can't find a sugar-free ginger beer).

I think I'd buy it on occasion, but not keep it on hand

I heard they won the court case, making Gosling's the only way to make a genuine Dark n Stormy. Of course you can use other dark rums. Not only will it not be a real Dark n Stormy, it won't taste as good. Other dark rums work, just not as well, at least what a Dark n Stormy does for you. Another great thing about this rum is its price.

Nice color and was expecting a bit more based on that. Not much of a nose. Strong hint of coffee perhaps lingers. Tried in dark and stormy and most guests preferred other mixers.

This is a good dark rum, but much too heavy for me. If you like your rums that way, go for it. I have to dilute these heavy, dark rums in order to truly enjoy them - so the good news is I can have a few more before I've had too much - if you know what I mean.

This is a decent dark rum, but there is nothing outstanding about it... good with coke

What else would you use for a try dark and stormy? Ok there are others.

Has a nice taste to it but have only tried it in mixed drinks. I will have to try it straight to see harshness.

I don't normally like the dark rums straight but this one is pretty good. Its best with just a dash of coke.

I really liked this with a drop of coke. Enjoyed the brown sugar flavours, this rum has its own distinct flavour that sets it apart from the crowd. Must try these dark and stormys....

Love the notes of citrus and molasses / caramel.

Having patented the dark and stormy, this rum is excellent for that cocktail. You can drink it on it's own as well, although the taste isn't all that interesting and doesn't really evolve.
