Bermuda | Dark | 40% ABV

The James Gosling family business first produced Gosling Black Seal rum in 1806, and it is now the oldest surviving business on the island of Burmuda.

Gosling 'Black Seal' rum received it's name from the black wax originally used to seal the bottles. It is Bermuda's most widely exported product and considered the nation's national drink.

Bought it with the single purpose to make Dark'n'Stormy with the original ingredients, but it turned out as an utter disappointment. A pretty flat and generic rum with better alternatives.

Makes a quality dark and stormy but not quite smooth enough for much else.

Hard to straight up, too spicy and too strong taste for me.
Maybe this is good for mixer, but I do not drink cocktail, sorry.

Dark & Stormy. A bit bitter but overall nice in a Dark & Stormy

This rum is totally different from what I've tasted. Strong smell, earthy taste, reminds me to fernet slightly. Depends on mood, may be a good evening companion.

Gosling's is perfectly acceptable, and I get that they have the copyright but when making your Dark n' Stormy... you can do better. Far more bland than the color would suggest, Gosling's makes a perfect companion to top-quality ginger beer... since it tastes like hardly anything. For when you want the ginger to shine through. This is one that will live on my bar for a long, long time, as it's one of the last rums I'd grab.

i had bought this bottle a few years ago to have a dark mixing rum in the bar. Opened it tonight and straight thought it had a strong coffee aftertaste. I don't drink ginger beer for a dark & stormy so mixed it with ginger ale. Ok as a mixer for my taste but not a sipper.

I tried making a dark and stormy with ginger beer and I couldn't finish it - just too strong. I thought it might be the beer, but then I mixed it with Kracken and it was much better. It just has too much of a bitter bite for me.

Has it's own niche in the rum drinking world...with Lime and Ginger Beer!
Nothing works as well... def a reason to keep a bottle in your cabinet.
