This rum was instantly appealing to me, because of its bottle. The label looks great and just below the neck, there is a compass design molded into the glass bottle itself, which looks awesome. The cork also has a wooden top, which adds style for sure.
Now to the actual rum; it is unlike anything that I've tasted. It is very woody. The smell is really pleasant and natural. The taste is quite smooth and has a lot of natural tastes that come together well. The colour is a nice dark brown, which adds to the overall wooden character of the rum.
In conclusion, this is for sure a rum that I will drink again.
Ganska len i smaken med lagom mycket eftersmak.
Behaglig doft och jag upplevde inte att den var så söt som många andra sorter.
It’s a Cuban rum produced by Havana Club. It results from a blend of ten old rums and a partial finish in Sauternes casks at the Cuban distillery of San José.
On the nose it is pleasant, the smell is interesting and sweet. We smell vanilla and ripe fruit.
On the palate the attack is very smooth and even silky. The intensity of the alcohol that had been perceived has completely evaporated. The rum tastes like caramel syrup and coffee, with lightly roasted nuts.
The finish is also very smooth, with caramel and vanilla.
This rum is faithful to the tradition of lightness of Cuba, the vinous notes however bring a fruity which gives it a certain originality.
I had this rum straight and thought it was good but not great. A little harsh, like most Cuban rums. Them I paired it with a Cuban cigar (Partagas) and man did that change the taste. This rum was definitely made with Cuban cigars in mind.
Just the right amount of sweetness and caramel, alcohol does not stand or to me. Worth it
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I had a few of these during my holidays at the beach. Very nice design, beautyful color and surprisingly smooth taste.
