Havana Club Pacto Navio

Another new aged rum from pernaud / havana club which is in fact a spiced rum... If you like true rum spirit, avoid it. If you like spiced rum this one contains less sugar than the popular don papa and diplomatico... but because they still write rum and not spiced rum on it, my rate is 1/10...

Agressive nose. Mineral and herbal mouth. Very interesting product. Well made

Un mélange de rhum cubain, mélasse trop présente à mon goût. Malgré tout "encore" un rhum pour novice qui permettra d'accéder à autre chose une fois le palais fait !

i dont like this Rum so much, because it taste too much of vanilla.

Great historical background: The name pacto navio comes from the fact that in the early days rum was shipped to Europe in barrels that were used to import wine to Cuba. This is also reflected by the shape of the bottle and the rope.
First I was a bit afraid because I'm not a wine drinker. But although there is a slight note that reminds of grapes its rather pleasant.

Rhum d'une banalité affligeante, aussitôt gouté aussitôt oublié. Attention je ne dis pas que c'est mauvais mais ça n'a strictement aucun caractère. Je ne sais pas combien il vaut mais il y a forcément meilleur au même prix.

Easy.. Rom ușor.. Specific Havana, poate puțin mai fin decât clasicele Havana de 7 - 8 ani. Prefer "on the rocks"..

A well ballance rum, it does not excell in any chapter, neither long lasting after, nor a very rich palate. i must say the combination of cane and grapes deliver an interesting flavor.

For me this is a nice enough rum to tuck into from time to time.

I tend to prefer sweeter, rums, but this rum makes a nice change as it is still sweet enough to enjoy as a sipper without being too syrupy like some over-sweetened rums.

I get some unusual sensations of grape (presumably from the barrels) in both the taste & smell, whilst not unpleasant, personally I find a little off-putting & doesn't work well for me.

Great presentation, nice bottle with a cloth bag.
