On the nose:
Low ethanol smell, it has a kaloa coffee like smell, one dimensional but not in a bad way.
On the tongue:
Muted kaloa taste is still there, but mixed with generic spice somewhere in the back, perhaps some vanilla, the after taste is quickly finished.
Personal opinion:
This is a great neat rum for easy drinking, though with the simple taste you will be likely to pour larger portions.
It cant compete the rest Foursquare rums but its a fare spiced rum for fare price.
Very nice spiced rum! Smooth mouth and throat feel, perfect sweetness for a spiced. Warming cinnamon flavor throughout, short finish with cinnamon notes slowly dying off. This will be more of a sipper for me. I feel the cinnamon would get lost with coke but may be noticed with ginger ale. We will see.

Fill the body of foursquare distillery rum. Young rum good for mixing

How many non-dosed ultra sugary spiced rums are there? There canโt be many, and this is one of them. Really cinnamon and clove heavy, and you can feel the youthfulness in the rum. Works well with cola or ginger beer. As this is a rarity in the spiced rum world, I have to rate it well. Just wish it was at least 80 proof.
Sourced in a cute lil bottle ๐ฅฐ from the Lexington KY Total Wine. I let mine sit an hour because I was busy tasting other things and let's by honest, probs also playing PokรฉmonGo. The hour did wonders! This is a fantastic rum. Did I taste pumpkin pie??
I've tried a couple of other spiced rums (Captain Morgan Private Stock and Jonah's Curse) while looking for something to have in my cabinet as a change of pace. This is the best of the three. I've tried it neat, on the rocks and mixed. It requires at least an ice cube or three. It mixes well with Coke. It's not overly sweet and the spice flavors are fairly subtle, nothing overpowering. It has no added sugar, which makes it unique in this category. At 75 proof it goes down very easily. I pick up cinnamon, nutmeg, clove/allspice, a bit of vanilla and something else that defies description. It doesn't give me the impression of having a great deal of added flavoring, it's rather subtle notes integrated into a base of acceptable dark rum. It doesn't taste like a sugared liqueur, unlike some of its cousins. However, all that said, this will be the last bottle of spiced rum I'll ever purchase--I get much more enjoyment from the real thing. If I need to jazz up my much-better Doorly's for some reason, for cooking purposes I've already got fresh Madagascar vanilla beans, cloves, Ceylon cinnamon and other spices that should (in extreme moderation) give me much-superior results to pre-spiced rum...I'm done with these products forever, live and learn.
Spices in the rum are quite subtle.
"Quite a nice rum, though not really a spiced rum."

Spice notes blend nicely with a cola. Not bad neat with minimal alcohol burn.
