Plantation Belize XO Grapia Finish 8-Year

This was one of my first xo rums i tasted so i dont know what my developed palate would say today but when i tasted this couple years ago, it was heavenly, and quite dry and bold actually but i really loved it.
What i remember from drinking this:
Quite intense on palate, very warming spicy and peppery, vanilla, slight exotic fruit and toffee flavours. Some smoke coming through.
Just the right amount of sweetness to round it up a little but remained on the bit dry side
Finish was intense, long and peppery.
Has quite a kick but not in a bad way.
Had quite an unapologetic fiery character for your normal plantation but i really liked it.
Best plantation rum i have tried.

color: amber, slightly boiled tea. body average
aroma: biscuit, creamy, spicery, baked pie, cocoa-coffee theme, molasses. A freshness appeared, freshness in the fragrance
taste: soft, enveloping, dry, warming, sweetness, spices appear to the fore, there is acidity, a little vanilla.
aftertaste: Average sweet, fruity turning into peppery.

This rum is remarkable! Fermented in the Yucatán Then distilled in a column still, the rum is then aged in bourbon casks for 6 years. Then sent to France to be further aged in cognac casks. From there it is aged again in Brazilian Ash barrels(grapia).
Nice complex rum with notes of sherry, baking spices, coconut, maple syrup, cloves and tropical fruit. Smooth, enjoyable rum that should be enjoyed neat, not mixed as their are many less expensive lower quality rums for that. Plus the fact that this rum is very hard to come by as you won't find it in the US. It is a limited edition rum and will set you back about $45-$60 US.
I recently purchased this rum in Sint Maarten while on a cruise. Glad I did as I had asked the employee at the liquor store what would be a high quality rum that I can't get back in the US, and she pointed to Belize XO 8 and Havana Club Seleccion de Maestro.

Aroma: Výrazně kořenité aroma je až koňakové, přidává se propolis, do toho dokonce nějaké přezrálé lesní plody, maliny, jahody, chvílemi až do červeného vína a kořenitě nakyslého ovoce. Po červeném víně se objeví i vůně růžového vína. Zajímavý profil. (93 b)
Chuť: Chuť je zkrátka extrémně lahodná. Sladkokyselá ovocnost. V chuti je tento rum krásně jemný, nasládlý, kořenitý, uhlazený, hebký, přitom ale stále výrazný, koňakový a projeví se i vliv sudu po bourbonu. (95 b)

Shrnutí: Ochutnávali jsme s kamarádem na dalším degustačním večeru v českolipském Baru/Kavárně Kocour. Hlavní jádro ochutnávky tvořily čtyři Plantationy, k tomu novinka od Diplomática - Mantuano, pak jsme zkusili El Ron Prohibido Habanero a na úplný závěr pak pouťovou atrakci RedRum. Společně s Multi-Islandem od Plantation byl tento rum pro mě vrcholem ochutnávky.

Nez envoûtant de fleurs et d'agrumes, soutenu par des notes toastées, épicées, boisées, glycérinées.
La bouches est d'un superbe équilibre malgré ses 43,1% d'alcool, très belle texture, allonge épicée avec un peu de chauffe mais sans désagrément.
