Companero Gran Reserva

Ok, aber gegen den Companero mit Schokogeschmack, welches mein momentaner Favorit ist, hat er einen schweren Stand. Für mich persönlich nichts besonderes.

It's not bad for the price, a little bit funky.
The nose is fruity, a little bit sweet and grasy. I get pear, citrus, melon, some vanilla and fresh wood with grasy nottes. Very good nose overall. Not very matured, but pleasant.

The issue is in the taste. Watery start, the dilution is bad.
Then I get melon, some sweet and grasy notes with vanilla.
In the middle I get paper, some tannins, vanilla, melon and honey. Not bad overall, could be more matured.
A little bit spice in the finish, vanilla and melon.

Not bad overall, but there is still the dilution problem. I would rate it with 69 points because of this issue.

Middle: paper (white oak), some tannins, vanilla, melon and honey
Finish: spice, some vanilla, melon

Alcohol flavour is slightly dominating. Hint of molasa and wood. Dry. A few sips later is quite more drinkable, more smoother. This is not an again-buyer.

Leicht fruchtig im Antritt, dann sehr würzig und etwas alkoholisch.
Alles in allem ein spannender Rum.

Ром. Слабоватенький для своих заявленных 7-12 годков.

Big disapointment. Lots of alcohol a petroleum in nose. Very harsh. Strong alcohol burn.

Durfte diesen Rum im Rahmen eines Tastings kennenlernen.
Im Aroma sind wirklich augeprägte Nuancen von Schoko und Coffee. Was mich danach richtig umgehauen hat war der Geschmack. Ich habe wirklich noch nie einen Rum getrunken bei dem eine Geschmacksrichtung (hier Schokolade) so intensiv ausgeprägt war. Wirklich der Hammer. Für mich schon zu stark deswegen nur 7 Punkte. Unglaublich dass diesem Rum nichts beigefügt wurde und der Geschmack tatsächlich nur von den Kakaofässern kommt in denen er gelagert wurde.
Leicht verdünnt mut Wasser schmeckt er meines Erachtens besser weil nicht ganz so intensiv.

Bine echilibrat, cu aftertaste interesant și arome deosebite individualizate. Merge și sec dar mai plăcut cu gheață.

A combination of aged rums from Jamaica and Trinidad, produced by Danish bottler 1423 for its Compañero range. The Jamaican rums in the blend come from pot stills, while the rums from Trinidad were produced in column stills. The resulting expression is well-balanced and flavoursome - perfect for sipping neat. Sandalwood and tobacco give it a savoury nose, while notes of fried banana and chocolate balance out the palate.
